There was once an evil lion who thought he was king of the jungle. Every day he would hunt and kill animals for his food.
The animals had a meeting and came up with a plan. Each day, one animal would go the lion's den to be his meal. The lion would never have to hunt again and more animals would survive.
It was the rabbit's turn to go to the lion. The rabbit took her time to get there.
"Why are you so late?" yelled the lion. "I'm starving!"
"I'm late because the other lion was chasing me. He said he was the king of the jungle," said the rabbit.
"He is not! I am king of the jungle," cried the lion. "Take me to this other lion."
The rabbit led the lion to a deep well. She pointed to the well and said, "Look inside. The other lion is hiding there."
When the lion looked down into the well, he saw his own reflection. But he thought it was another lion. He roared and thought the echo was the other lion roaring back.
The lion was furious. He jumped into the well to fight the other lion. With a big splash, the evil lion drowned and was never heard from again. Thanks to a clever rabbit, the animals lived in peace.
