One day, she decided to make it extra exciting. She yelled, “Today’s race has an obstacle course!” She grabbed cones, jump ropes, and a giant hula hoop from the gym closet. Soon the whole schoolyard was buzzing.

“Ready, set, GO!” shouted Lila.

Everyone zoomed off, leaping over cones and crawling through the hula hoop. Lila was in the lead, of course. But then... SQUISH! Her foot landed right on a banana peel someone had dropped.

“Woooaaahhh!” she cried as she slid across the schoolyard like a skateboard. Everyone gasped. Lila spun in three dizzy circles and landed with a plop right on her bottom.

The schoolyard was silent for a moment. Then her best friend Lucy yelled, “That was the coolest move EVER!”

Everyone cheered. Lila stood up, bowed, and said, “Thank you, thank you. I call that the Banana Spin!”

From then on, kids begged her to show them the “Banana Spin” at every recess.
