Fractions: Numerator and Denominator
The denominator is the bottom number of the fraction. It is the total number of equal parts that make up the shape or group.
The numerator is the top number of the fraction. It is the number of equal parts that the fraction represents.
Example: If a pie is cut in 6 equal pieces and we eat 2, the fraction of the pie that we eat is 2/6, with numerator 2 and denominator 6.
